Inception

1953

Founded SUGIKO Store in Wataridamukaicho, Kawasaki-Ku, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
Started to sell processed bamboo products and scaffolding logs/boards.

Established SUGIKO Store, a limited company.

Reorganized into SUGIKO Store Co., Ltd.

Start of Rental Business

1972

Changed the company name to SUGIKO Co., Ltd.
Launched a scaffolding equipment rental business.
Developed the business mainly targeting the plant industry.

1972

For Construction Site Safety

2001

Established "Construction Safety Management Department."
Started to provide scaffolding safety services with full-time staff assigned.

2002

200 Employees with sales exceeding 10 billion yen

2004

Started scaffolding safety lectures.
Started lectures for contractors on scaffolding-related laws/regulations and past accident cases at customer-sponsored safety conventions and conferences.
Launched a wall greening business.

2007

Relocated the headquarters to Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
Established "Scaffolding Safety Consulting Department."

2008

Started to provide experience-based danger trainings.
Started to provide experience-based danger trainings combined with classroom lectures as a scaffolding safety education.

2010

Started activities as a registered training institution.
Licensed by the Kanagawa Labor Bureau, started activities as a registered training institution to provide operation chiefs of scaffolding assembly, etc. with skill trainings.

Establishment of Holdings Co.

2012

Established SUGIKO GROUP HOLDINGS CO., LTD. through a share transfer from SUGIKO Co., Ltd.

Established CONG TY TNHH SUGIKO VIETNAM in Hanoi City, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, for the purpose of business globalization.

400 Employees with sales exceeding 20 billion yen

2016

Established SUGIKO METRO GREEN Co., Ltd. (Kawasaki-Ku, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture) through an absorption-type company split of the urban greening business from SUGIKO Co., Ltd., for the purpose of enhancing the mobility of the urban greening business.

2019

Obtained the shares of Nakakin-Lease Corporation to make it a wholly owned subsidiary, for the purpose of enhancing the competitiveness of the temporary equipment rental business.

2019

800 Employees with sales exceeding 30 billion yen

2020

Integrated the temporary equipment rental business of Nakakin-Lease Corporation through an absorption-type company split.
Became a consolidated subsidiary of ORIX Corporation.
